John Woo has many amazing movies but there are 4 main ones that really gave his career a huge kick start. A Better Tomorrow, Hard Boiled, The Killer and Bullet in the Head, these 4 films alone could easily set him as the best action director of all time. Although the one movie that really got to me was Bullet in the head, for a little context this movie takes place during the Vietnam war and the story follows three friends who are small time criminals and through a multitude of unfortunate events they end up having to fight there way out of a war torn vietnam. This movie pulls absolutely no punches and really hammers in the point that needless violence will achieve you nothing more than needless violence. This movie is probably the only action movie I have seen that genuinly brought me to tears at the ending. Its a 2 and a half hour rollercoaster that never seems to have an end to it.
